Steve what better loco than Lightning to get picture of the week, that is just a superb photograph in its own right. Well done there mate so congratulations from me too
Western Harrier on a Paddington to Penzance train!! This may be a little confusing but this diorama is in This thread as it will not be part of the Riviera line exhibition layout!! I’m in discussions with some one about the purchase of it. The railway line at Dawlish is my favourite stretch of line so I had to build something for my self.
...nor that GUV which would look good on the Leek Mirfield evening parcels working. Seriously Steve this layout is an absolute winner.
I reckon these clay hoods are destined for A.J.Wass at Longport Full Loads or Shelton Wharf clay siding Stoke on Trent. A very nice and evocative scene Steve.
Interestingly I seem to remember reading an amended later BR paint spec once for two tone green and I'm fairly sure it specified a semi flat finish, which stacks up as all the two tone loco's I ever saw in BR service had a very flat matt finish. Maybe painting TT green diesels in gloss is not quite correct. Apologies Steve for hijacking your thread on a sub topic.
Passing expresses on a summer Saturday in 1961!! Glorious South Devon ☀️ I’m not sure if the driver of Compton Castle is looking on in admiration at the Warship or with scorn!!
