These two should have been before the last post! This was before the final weathering on the coping stones. I’ve also given the sea another coat of varnish
Lightning heads west on a Wolverhampton to Goodrington sands Saturday extra, 8763 has a short PWay train
Superb, very atmospheric! Goodrington was another childhood holiday destination - great memories of that place. Thanks for sharing
after an epic journey across the length and breadth of Wales today to collect Kelham Hall from Conrad Cooper and a Stanier 60’ period 2 from David Magill I’m finally back home. Here they are on Mermaid Cove again apologies for the poor lighting!
Moved Mermaid Cove form the workshop to the kitchen with a brief stop off in the garden for a few snaps
Natural lighting makes all the difference. Steve what an amazing set of pictures capturing a time honoured scene with such spirit... not an element of "plasticness" in sight anywhere. I just showed these to SWMBO and her answer was ... wait for it.... "Ooh yes... you should do something like that in the garden" !!! Now do I need anymore green lights me thinks. So the empowerment of your skills sets inspiration running high particularly since SWMBO wouldn't know the difference between a GW Castle loco and a Daimler Fleetline double decker bus.Superb mate as always.
A sneak peak at a few of the locos and stock used today for the Model Rail Photo shoot. Thanks to Rob Haskins and Gareth Jones for bringing their models.
As I’ve failed to find a buyer for Severn Tunnel East I have now set about dismantling it, These items are available for sale. I’ve reused a lot of the scenics on the Riviera Line and I can reuse some of the buildings. The signal box and home signal have been sold. Signal is servo operated and has LeD lamps Signal now sold
I’ve had this GW suburban coach for 2 years and only recently noticed it’s missing the 1st class designation on the doors!! A quick order to fox and all is now correct.

Check out my painting guide on the Intentio web site. The jist of it is; Grey primer Then Gloss white ( £ shop ) I use BR Bauxite for base red, you can use Halfords red oxide but I think the Railmatch bauxite is a nicer finish. Then the long drawn out process of picking out individual bricks in differing shades. The humbrol codes are on the Intentio web site. Then cream acrylic for the mortar courses. Paint as much of the individual bits as you can as it does make a difference. Weathering is mainly humbrol Matt 33 black dry brushed on. Phoenix precision engineers blue for above windows etc or depending on your chosen region. I’m sure I’ve posted a step by step guide in this thread. Post 658 for the painting guide
