The Forum is not very user friendly! I expected to just add #658 and go to it, but there seems to be no correlation between the post number and the actual site link number! Am I expecting too much or is there a magic trick I am missing Until I am set straight, here is the easy link Building Laser cut kits and dioramas #658
It’s been a long time since I’ve had a go at weathering! I used to do a lot in 4mm but I’ve been happy to pay others since modelling in 7mm so I thought it was about time I had another crack at it! Still lots to do but here’s the first few hours work.
Great service from Warren Shephard, new tank lifting rings and tank fillers in place. I’ve fitted a false shelf in the bunker and coaled up 8763, I’ve also fitted a cast lamp bracket as I misplaced the plastic one.
Now blended in! I admit to forgetting to add the rings! I’ve remedied that now! I’ll tuch them in with some Matt black 8763 is also finished
5904 Kelham Hall running in on Pete Waterman’s Leamington Spa! All was not well unfortunately! Looks like I’ve got a duff motor.
A new commission under way, this will essentially be a photo plank to photograph finished models. 3’ x 1’ x 8” tall. 50mm thick polystyrene base cut through its centre, I placed the two halves back together and marked the track, I then cut either side of the track at an angle to give the impression that the railway Line has been built up. No flat earth here! Covered first in filler then with decorfill once dry I’ll PVA then fill again with decorfill . I’ll make up some sides out of 3mm ply to give it a nice finish and paint in with black board paint. This will be a simple scenic finish using mainly static grasses with a few bushes.
Great job on adding the fence posts. I like the contrast in colours from light green to a darker green grass.
Now I had a premonition that you might post a portrait of Lightning on this diorama, a superb loco on a lovely back scene.
Mermaid Cove has been delivered to it’s new owner Look out for it in Model Rail magazine in the next few months.
