The weather has settled to a comfortable 20+, the Vino has been trodden and the guests have gone... so... I've decided to give myself a long term project (apart from St Michael). This involves upgrading a 35+ year old Tri-ang Freightmaster set. Mostly it will involve weathering, new wheel sets and couplings so shouldn't present too many problems... er... anyway the items are near mint and the wagons have plastic chassis ... I mean how hard can it be...

they look to be in excellent condition for their age. Do you intend to change the couplings to the narrow style?

I remember that train set, it was one of the top of the range ones that I would never be able to save up for.

Hi Kim that's the plan eventually (with magnetic couplings) , Paul the sets are quite reasonable nowadays but even though these are mint they really need using so....

Looks like an interesting project. I have an old Hymek and some slightly dated rolling stock and could do with some pointers on how to make the best of them, so I will be following with interest.

    regards
