I've always hankered for a 9F - mighty machines. Doesnt 'fit' with my layout in terms of era but that hasn't stopped me buying others that don't. What is interesting is how 'weathered' they are in the video - a mild understatement I think, and way beyond what many would consider doing to a model loco.
I recall them passing through Chesterfield in the early 60's with heavy coal trains, and although they were at that time relatively 'New', they were always filthy since at that stage they were on the downhill slope towards the scrap man, scandalous really as by the time they were withdrawn they were barely 'Run-in' from new! Talk about a waste of taxpayers money! Keith.
one in o gauge would go down a treat. Immingham loco with white/silver embelishments and some fish vans
Think I'd have some room for the fish vans (a few) and maybe even a brake van, then I'm stuffed But I have dreams - and small pockets so a 9F will just have to be on the wish list Paul
I hope to go and see 92134 on the NYMR this year all being well. I`d love to see that 9F on the GCR pulling those wind cutters . Tony H.
