Quite a few steam locos had tapered handrails at the cab entrances. You can buy really nice casy examples from such as Laurie Griffin but a chap on the Guild Forum has just posted a link to some turned one which must be worth a punt at £11.76 for a hundred plus carriage - which I didn't go far enough with an order to find out. https://www.hswalsh.com/product/taper-pins-nickel-cx126 They also do them in brass slightly cheaper - £9.48 inc Vat https://www.hswalsh.com/product/taper-pins-brass-cx127
Could be worth a look. Thanks Rob. Do you know the diameter just out of curiosity ? They could have a few uses. Toto
