Picked up this little beauty on Sunday afternoon. The chap selling it had two locos of the same 'running number sent to him from Kernows. Since then he had purchased a another with different running number and this one here became available to me for $130.00 or £80.00 ! Not a bad bargain considering they are still available from Kernow's for £109.00 ! Cheers, Gary.
Very nice Gary make sure when it's DCC you keep the wheels clean and the track clean as the plating on the weeks can become very easly damaged via arking
I never did get around to buying one of these, what are the pickups like Gary, are they on all the wheels or just the 4 driving wheels? I was thinking these loco's could give problems on points and crossings, something which has also stopped me from buying one of Kernows (DJ Models) USA tank engines. Anyone any experience of either of these loco's? (This could be an expensive question if everyone gives them the) Keith.
All I can say is that she is a little ripper ! Toto, she isn't dcc fitted, yet ! Ian, no rivets short and the detailing is excellent. Chris, It seems that the loco has been run only a few times as the wheels are super clean. I'll take onboard what you said about keeping her feet clean. Keith, I took the loco to Gormo's last night and she circulated the layout on low speed quite nicely. There was no hesitation through the points at all. I'll take a look at the pick-ups later today and get back to you. All in all, I'm very happy with the performance, (although we ran her light) and the detail is fantastic. A great little investment indeed ! Cheers, Gary.
Keith - you knew the answer was going to be painful Time to hit the piggy banks, or get the letter paper & pen out for begging letters to Santa Paul
