Ok, I have all these kits downloaded, but, if I were to use the coal office, and I have it in brick ; Can I change the colour on the printer setting...? Can I blend it with the stone building of the same kit...?? Can we do what we like with the base as long as there is no additional accessories...? Does this omit the baseboard surface from being scribed or paving added...?? I have some great ideas, but they would clearly fall under the 'interpretations of the rules..' Cheers, Gary.
You can't use brick and stone. That would constitute using two different kits. You can scribe the baseboard surface no problem. Changing the printer settings as long as it still resembles a brick finish and the setting is used throughout the build. Use all your brick printouts are from the same setting. I can see a lot of crafty thinking going on here. I'll need to keep an eye on you lot.
Just one question for Toto... Can I add card rails to the side of the weigh bridge, as per the prototype ? After all, these ain't barrels, boxes, carts, vehicles, people or the like, they would be similar to adding drain pipes or building parts. Please consider oh mighty one... Cheers, Gary.
Whilst I wait on a reply from Toto, I thought that I should make a start on my model. You probably have guessed by now which model/kit I have chosen, so, a few pics... ^ The printed and pasted sections waiting assembly. ^ Wall sections cut and covered accordingly. ^ Getting there, just needs a roof, bargeboards, chimney cap and chimney tops... ^ Assembled minus the weigh bridge and ground coverings. Both pics (above and below) have suitable weathering applied, as per the rules...! Still more to come.... Cheers, Gary.
Looking good Gary...although I reckon the 7th brick along 10 courses down needs re-pointing... not important but didn't want you losing stars from that nice Mr Wiffen. Ian
The mortar has come loose due to the apprentice attempting to mount a sign on the wall. He drilled the mortar and not the brick ! Cheers, Gary.
Paul, yep, "pull ya finga out..." Well, it's just about complete. I have a few little bits left to do... Ok, the base board for the model with pavement down. The lines on the board are the 6' margins and the blackened area is where the weigh bridge will sit... I hope I don't give away any tips... Cheers, Gary.
Hi Gary. Card rails are ok. It would be the equivalent of adding an outside lighting fixture to a building which constitutes part of the buildings structure. Now ........ Remember that tenner that you were going to post to me ......... For the benefit of doubt ........ That was a joke........ It's actually twenty. Cheers toto.
Top work Gary very inspiring. Toto Don't forget the poor Aus$ to £ exchange rate make sure you get more than a few pence by stipulating it's Pounds sterling not our worthless Ossy $
Well guys, We are slowly but surely starting to show our hands. Gary has kicked off and immediately raised the bar here. You now see what you are up against. Some cunning plans need to be hatched me thinks. Of course there are some risks associated with coming out in the open at such an early stage but I fear that Gary may not have nailed his colours to the mast yet. This is getting very interesting, who is next to break cover ? Excellent work Gary and good luck to all participating. Cheers Toto.
I'm only practicing for the proper entry. You could say I'm attempting to push the boundaries to see what is possible... Cheers, Gary.
What did I tell you. I knew he wasn't exposing himself yet ( yikes ..... hope he never does ). Its a psychological game now. exhibiting all the quiet prowess of a lion whilst awaiting for others to show their work and then the stunning speed of a gazelle as he springs towards the finish line and ........ wham ......... in for the kill. ahem ......... I mean ..... er ...... doing really well Gary. cheers toto
I'm not finished yet Toto the corks only just off the tinto ... er say hi to the nice Mr Griffin. Ian
