I like the alignment method - not an issue I've had uptill now - I love inside cylinders  :avatar:

this is always an issue with me... I'll let you know once the other cylinder wrap is fitted. Just riveted up both side rod centre joints having drilled out for the brass crankpin bushes. Happy to say rotation is good but I must tap another crankpin bush 10BA to replace a slack one on the front drivers, must have worn the thread somehow but then I did do a batch of them ages ago so it could be a duff one that slipped in.:avatar: Camera on charge with 3% at the mo so no piccy I'm afraid.

Thank you for the kind compliment and your time reading the total thread... I fitted side rods yesterday and all works as it should so now I am able to proceed with completion of the cylinder block, the body is near enough finished just backhead to dress and cab roof. I have a motor helical gearbox combo to fit later and painting will be lined black then weathered.

    cheers Paul

Thank you for your supportive comment... this kit is a nice one to build and like all it pays to take your time in the build process. My previous build a Rebuilt Patriot is awaiting a new tender, not that the one supplied is wrong but its an all welded one whereas I need a rivetted version for the time frame I'm modeling.
    cheers Paul

    Aye Lad

They work slightly different, they keep em in red boxes, and you walk to them - it's the healthy option and keeps your step count up as well.

And no annoying cold calls, although in the winter they are all cold calls

    Sorry Paul

How quaint. Our local box now contains a defibrillator and another has books.

So having circumnavigated the rather crusty second hand paperback books and piles of discarded bicycle spanners in the out of use K6 in our village I asked a passing cyclist if I could use his phone to take a picture as it would save me money charging mine up. :avatar: Anyway here is the result, side rods and connecting rods drilled and reamed 1.6mm to accept the crankpin bushes, a dry fit to the chassis proved the wheels rotate freely... chassis now in matte varnish to protect paintwork in readyness to do the final assembly. Combination levers and links now fitted to the crossheads.

    Very nice ........

    and for your next project

A bit of forward planning and you could have got the cyclist to chagre it, more importantly, if you pitch it right he'd pay you for the use of a static excersise bike.
You you got a bit o catching up with the Scots :avatar:

Yes and sadly I'm not in their league of inventiveness ... not even close, this is rural Yorkshire you know. Now tell me where is Scotland? its sound like somewhere else... I've heard of Bridlington, is it anywhere near there ? :avatar::avatar:

Unfortunately the Scottish £1 note no longer exists, the last ones dissapeared during the Great Toilet Roll famine of 2020 - we sold them all south of the border.
