Excellent glad you like it. Andy's arrived as well so just waiting for Kimbis to land although that may take a little longer. Dunno why Enjoy building it when you get around to it. Cheers Toto
I've had a quick scan at the etches and gosh arn't they crisp... the castings a fine as well so I'm chuffed.
I’m still considering the build myself or if to take a trip to Yorkshire... and drop it to Yorkie for the build (hence why it wasn’t directed there in the first instance - gives me an excuse to have a trip out providing Notts isn’t in lockdown again from Monday )
Well, to be fair, the first one I did was the Leek and Manifold loco followed by the coach. So I may do!
Practice your soldering technique on a few pieces of scrap etch... I have tons of the stuff for you when you next visit, just cut a few small shapes and put them together at various different angles, that way you will skill up on just how much solder to load and heat needed for the size / thickness of brass used. Try using a micro flame torch as well, it will come in handy on fine runs where you don't want the brass surface staining up. When you come to do the wagon just keep checking to make sure the frames are level... use a thick pane of glass or a marble cutting board will do ... you want to avoid twist at all costs for if distortion goes unchecked then then more you add the greater the issue becomes.
