Hi it's been a while since I was on the forum and I have gone back to oo gauge railway modelling. As you know I like to model dioramas so I have decided to build another one called siding. This is in era5 where a Ketton Cement wagon will be in a single siding.. The diorama will have a slightly raised grassy area on each side of the track. One of the grassy areas will have a pool which should look good visually. I am going to add a small fenced area and a yard lamp will be fitted. As always weathering, ballasting, grass and foliage will be added to the diorama.
Thanks Vinylelpea for pushing the likes button. Once my plinth arrives I can progress further with diorama build.
Work on my diorama is progressing nicely now, the raised grassy areas have been painted with a variety of different earth colours. This is a good base colour for adding static grass to.
Today is an update picture of my progress. Tomorrow I should be able to start work on applying some static grass which will bring the diorama to life and add some colour.
Thanks guys for the likes. Today work has progressed on the grassy areas of the diorama, static grass has been added and once dried long tufts will be added and some flowering daffodils. As always a couple of pictures of my progress..
Hi today I have been busy adding small bits of detail to the diorama. Some discarded wood and metal have been placed around the diorama. The pool has wood and metal thrown it it and I'm in the process of adding rust and grime to the pool to try and capture some erosion. A length of corrugated sheet has been added using the foil from a dog food tray which was then scored and weathered accordingly. I'm awaiting some daffodils a workman and some vines to arrive before I can proceed further, but all in all I think it's looking good.
Hi and thanks to everyone for pushing the likes and the positive commenets. The diorama still needs a little more detail adding to it such as flowers and the odd bogie wheel which may have been dumped or discarded.
Paul thank you for the kind words, it means a lot as I know my modelling beit small is showing interest in fellow modellers. Like I mentioned I still need to add a few more items and some weathering using powders.
Hi everyone I'm planning to revisit my siding diorama as I need to add few items before calling this finished. I hope to plant some daffodils as this help to bring the diorama to life a little.
