I've just taken out a digital subscription to Railway Modeller, via https://shop.exacteditions.com/gb/railway-modeller which now also gives access to a full archive right back to 1949. Will be revisiting my childhood over the next few days as I browse through the 1960's and 70's editions that used to excite and intrigue me so much back then.
Very tempting indeed. I used to have a large collection of Railway Modellers almost, but not quite, complete from the late 1950s through to the early 1980s. I reluctantly parted with them about 20 years ago, when they began to take up too much storage space in the house. One reason it was easy (well, let's say not too difficult) to part with them was that I had, at the time, completely lost interest in model railways, and reasoned that I would never look at them again anyway. These days I only buy a copy when there is an article that particularly interests me, say about 3 or 4 issues a year. It's funny too, that just today a parcel arrived from a bookshop in England containing a bound copy of the Railway Modeller for 1967, a year I particularly wanted to revisit, as the July 1967 issue of the Railway Modeller was the first model railway magazine I bought - actually I think my father might have bought it for me come to think of it.......
Hi Graham What format are the archives in ?, as I'd be interested in subscribing to gain access to Ian Beatties drawings. Cheers Paul
