Hi Richard, Thank you yes we had a lovely day the weather was great like a summer's day here and a good days steaming was had by all very successful and loved our track as apparently there isn't many garden railways with a figure of eight so that was good according to one of our members and a track you have to drive your l ocos. on Looking forward to the next one now.And eventually our official opening day where people can come and visit Regards, Gloria.
Great set of photos Gloria You're making me want to get outside and start mixing up some cement! Noooo, too soon too soon!!
Hi Clive, Yes I agree the weather is changing summer won't be long he he everything takes time and planning but I expect you will get there. We laid our railway on blocks easy to take up can't think of the name of them they weren't breeze blocks but a softer cement block also cheaper. Don't know if that helps they are so easy to cut with an old saw. So sorry I didn't see this post until this morning still trying to find my way around the site. R ehgards, Gloria.
Hi Gloria, yes I am already using those blocks for my trackbed - I believe they are called 'Celcons' in this country, or 'Hebel blocks' down under
Hi Clive, The ones that we got are called Thermolite I just asked my partner. Easy to saw and lay hope that helps. Good luck with your build once the weather gets better as its typical March weather in like a lion out like a lamb she says he he Regards, Gloria.
