Hi , I'm in uncharted territory here, I have modelled N gauge many years ago and have both an OO (Sheringbourne) and an HO gauge (Rush City yard) now. I spotted this gauge at the Telford show this year and found it very appealing. I bought a loco kit, my first which turned out really well. (see below) I also bought a couple of ready made wagon kits and have spent today building my first wagon kit in this gauge, see pictures below.. I have decided to fit Kadee couplers and use small magnets as I have used them on Rush City yard successfully. A layout has not been planned as yet but I'm sure that will soon be sorted!! Cheers Ron
mmmmmmm .......... better not let Toto see this or Luib bridge will be getting a narrow gauge line as well Nice one Ron Just for info - the Gauge O Guild recommend a minimum weight for wagons of 1g per millimeter for the length of wagon. e.g. a 125mm long wagon should weigh at least 125g - any lighter and they have found they are prone to comming off the track when being propelled. Looking forward to seeing the new layout Paul
Thats interesting Paul, I'll get measuring the wagons!! Whats the best 'weight' material?? Thanks Ron
I have found the self adhesive wheel balance weights work well. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ADHESIVE-WHEEL-WEIGHTS-100X60-5G-10G-WHEEL-BALANCER-TYRE-CHANGER-MACHINE-/200957684263?hash=item2eca02ea27:g:mZgAAOSwd0BV7HTo Paul
I have some lead flashing here Ron, if you are going to Peterborough exhibition next Sunday, I will bring you some, I,ve got loads . Cheer's, Pete.
Today I have 'dug' the NG layout out of one of my sheds and am now cleaning it up then testing it. Still a lot to do but I will update when I can. Good to be back!
Electrics done, now for the rest of it! I have not got a name for it yet, any suggestions?? Also upgraded my astronomy kit and observatory!
Narrow mine dead. (Narrow minded) The Rownar outlay railway (Narrow Layout) Shelffile railway. (Shelf life)
Decided the head shunt was not long enough so I've added some more! More track arriving today (I hope).
