I discovered the Gormo's Shed series on YouTube a few weeks ago. Since then I have been going back and watching almost every video on the channel. Just wanted say thanks for all your hard work and brilliant ideas. I love that you find cheap alternatives or use what you have laying around. I also love the motto that if it looks right then it is right. I am certainly not a purist although I have full respect for those that are. As long as it appears to fit the scene and doesn't look out of place then great with me. Thanks again, I have subscribed and look forward to future videos. Cheers, Chris.
Nice words Chris. Personally I have known Gormo since late 2012, via other forums we both have been associated with and I have got to know him better over the years to date. His videos have a following now which I'm sure is due to his nature of explaining things quite simple, gives great tutorials and further more, clearly spoken. I can say I have learnt a thing or two, or three, or four off him over the years, through his videos and in general (whilst chewing the fat with him). I'm positive I'll learn a lot more ! Cheers, Gary.
G`day Chris, Thanks for your kind words and I`m glad you`ve got something out of my videos. I too have great respect for those that model at very high standards, but in my case, I like to get the thing done, and I don`t have the patience to spend a thousand hours on one thatched cottage ( as per Pendon ) and as long as the item does a reasonable job of suggesting what it`s intended to be, I am content, so therefore the motto..." If it looks right, it is right " My budget for my railway is minimal so I have to find ways of creating some things myself. This cannot always be done, but it`s a great boost to ones self esteem when you can find a way. I get great enjoyment from the creative side of the hobby and I`ve taken my base inspiration from the late, great Rev. Peter Denny and his Buckingham layout.......a man who was way ahead of his time in this hobby and a great gentleman to boot. Rev. Peter built just about everything on his railway himself, and did a grand job of it, at a time when the rest of us were happy with Triang and Hornby train sets. Thanks for subscribing and welcome to the forum. Gormo
Thanks Gary........you`re a champion mate... The thing is folks.......I have learnt a good deal from Gary as well........although he will never blow his own trumpet.........he`s too much of a gent to do that. Gary has the artists eye and many of his ideas and techniques have been stored in my old grey matter for future use. I guess that`s what this hobby is all about .....it`s the sharing of ideas and a willingness by experienced modellers, to help those that are new to the hobby and encourage them to carry on. Gormo
My thoughts exactly, I’ve been watch his videos for a couple of years and joined Platform1 as a result. Mike
It just amazes me how Gormo can find so many different subjects to cover then come up with really superb videos to go with it. Always look forward to the next one hitting the net Paul
Well to be honest guys, It`s nearly always a struggle to come up with a new subject for Gormo`s Shed........actually that`s what is happening as we speak.......haven`t got a clue..?????? So hopefully something will come along soon. Thank you all for your kind comments... Gormo
Thanks Gormo. I too found the forum because of your videos. Your thinking outside the box, is an inperaration, to all. Big Gormo fan. Phil
