Hi Paul, I'll attempt to download the software tomorrow night and also plug in me undo and do the porty thing. I'll let you know how I get on. That should be me caught up to date whilst we await the others receiving their kits. Cheers Toto
Hi All, Ah, the arduino kits. I have the UNO and a LCD shield. Fun times. I was using it initially in a failed attempt to build cockpit for flight sim with rotary switches etc. Was able to get flight data from FS to the LCD but required a lot more work that I was willing to give (meaning that I got frustrated after a while of metaphorically banging my head against a coding brick wall. Memory was fine). I would like to use it on my railway but I'll worry about that later. Warning - Toto you can't throw this 3 or 4 houses away if it frustrates you. It most probably will. Call Paul, have a drink, and walk the dog before returning to it. cheers Cameron
Hi Cameron, I'll give it a bash. Most of the things they I'll be doing with it will just be basic things, lighting and maybe operating servo's etc. I'm not looking to break any frontiers. Everything I do and learn is slow, it's the only pace I move at. I've been subconsciously getting tutored by Paul over the last year or so. Maybe some of it will have stuck. Out of this masterclass we have, I don't think I'll be at the forefront some how, more bringing up the rear.
We can but try Ron. I'm sure we'll find something useful out of it. Paul has managed some pretty cool things in the past with his.
Hi Guys, sorry I've been out of the loop for a while but still keeping an eyeball on things now and then. Exciting times for you peeps doing the Arduino 101 . Hope to get back to reality and normality soon. Col
I have built quite a few model railway related things with Arduino and I am now well and truly hooked. There is loads of stuff on the web to help you with ideas and I have put together a Pinterest page called "Arduino for model railways" mainly for my own use, but I am sure that others will find it useful. https://www.pinterest.co.uk/g7aqk/arduino-for-model-railways/ Neil
Ok.. my 'hard dinna u know' starter kit arrived today so first thing in the morning it's off to the church to dip it in the font. Then shake a crucifix at it before drilling a hole through its bread basket. If it survives that I'll figure out how it works.. ish. Oh and as a backup I've downloaded the IDE software Attached files
It'll be a while Chris I want to finish my mini traverser first but then I'm hoping to learn enough from the maestro to rig up a way to tell me when the tracks are aligned .. or when mi tea's ready. Ian vt
The 'which craft' happened when we bought the kit. Had you heard of a 'hard diinna u know before? .. me thinks we need to collect some kindling .. just as a precaution against 'Paul he of the Pointy hat' Ian vt
