I thought this may be of interest, or for some nostalgic.

And for those that think we have air pollution problems now, we have come a long long way

Yes but did you catch Meir station taken from the bridge and also Tunstall station and the loop line train at Etruria. I also liked the PMT Reliances particularly the 54 seater 4980VT series a few of which were kept in service long past their sell by dates until about 1980 on the Gillow Heath - Hanley service. I think that picture was taken in the first old Longton bus station

    Hi Redpiperbob,
Yes the clips show two views of Burslem station which I mistook for Tunstall station, so my mistake there. The first shot shows Burslem looking towards Cobridge with the passenger footbridge over the platforms and the Moorland Road over bridge behind, to the right can be seen the offset station building alongside the cobbled goods yard roadway which led to three sidings. The second shot shows a view in the other direction again with the passenger footbridge but looking towards Tunstall and with Hamil Road over bridge in the background, the low signalbox can just be made out at the end of the platform and the carriage landing sidings were on the right. I started off working at Longport station and the PCD depot as a junior during my railway days but couldn't identify Longport station from this film even abate with the level crossing removed. Here is a map of Tunstall station with the goods yards and the Newfields Wharf branch, Tunstall was opened to passengers in 1875 and closed in 1964, it had three signal boxes, Tunstall Junction, Tunstall Station and Newfields Junction which was a half mile or so away in the direction of Pitts Hill. Hope this helps folk interested in the old Loop Line.
