Hi everyone, An update on my carriage shed build, we have printed the Window frames on our 3d printer, three have been painted but not yet fitted the other has just finished printing, all that needs doing now is to take off the residue of PLA and painting and the glazing fitted then they will be ready to glue in place. The shed itself will be painted inside and out the inner platform to fit and lighting. Photos to follow after completion. Regards, Gloria.
Hi Gloria What are you using to glaze the windows ? On my HR passenger tank build I have used some Microscope slide covers - the ones I got were 18mm square, larger are available, nothing looks like glass better than glass. Cost was approx £6 for 100. Paul
Hi Paul, I am still looking at glass for the Windows, we are thinking of using proper glass cut to size , but not sure. Your idea sounds good Paul, so will look into that thank you ever so much for your input. Regards, Gloria..
Hi everyone, Here is a photo of my window frames with their first coat of paint these are 3d printed as mentioned in my update. Regards, Gloria.
One of the best scrap items I’ve found to use is actually the off cuts of laminate pouches for documents. Often we would have to use an A4 pouch for an A5 sheet, and hey presto, another A5 of transparency.
Hi Andy, Thank you ever so much for your input, we are thinking of using real glass, but not sure. I must say you all have some very clever ideas its worth thinking about. Will let you know the outcome of what we have used. Regards, Gloria.
Good morning Paul _I, Thank you ever so much for the link. Have had a look them and they do look the part, just need to measure up to see what size is needed. Kindest regards, Gloria.
